Retailers Announced for Downtown Pop-Up Shops, Small Business Saturday Activities Planned

November 21st, 2022 — Eight local entrepreneurs will bring new life to vacant storefronts in Downtown Tulsa during the holiday season as part of the Downtown Days of Wonder Pop-Up Shop Program presented by Downtown Tulsa Partnership.

From approximately Nov. 25-Jan. 15, the following small businesses will set up at five Downtown locations to sell their merchandise, which includes clothing, wellness products, home goods, candles, and baked goods:

DTP, a Small Business Saturday Neighborhood Champion, will give away reusable shopping bags from 10 a.m.-noon on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Pop-Up Shops, and carolers will fill the air with festive holiday music.

The Pop-Up Shop Program is part of Downtown Days of Wonder, a collaborative effort to attract Tulsans and visitors to Downtown Tulsa during the 2022 holiday season. Working with Downtown property owners, DTP matched Pop-Up Shop applicants with available ground-floor retail spaces in the Deco District and Tulsa Arts District. In some cases, DTP provided financial support to reduce barriers to program participation, including microgrants to cover applicants’ rent or purchase shelving, displays, and other materials.

"These entrepreneurs were chosen from 25 applicants, demonstrating the demand for affordable retail space in Downtown Tulsa,” said Brian Kurtz, President and CEO of Downtown Tulsa Partnership. “We are excited to bring these concepts to holiday shoppers to complement and supplement Downtown’s existing small shops and businesses.”

Retailers will set their own hours of operation, but most will generally operate 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Wednesday-Thursday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday-Saturday; and 11 a.m.- 5 p.m., Sunday.

Supporters of the Holiday Pop-Up Program include Downtown property owners Price Family Properties, Sharp Development, Philtower LLC and PartnerTulsa, as well as TEDC Creative Capital, who helped spread application information to graduates of its small business programs.
