Downtown Days of Wonder Announced for 2024-25 Holiday Season

Oct. 30, 2024 — Downtown Tulsa Partnership (DTP) and Downtown’s most popular holiday attractions shared their upcoming seasonal plans during a public announcement Wednesday morning at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center’s LaFortune Studio.

Downtown Days of Wonder (DDOW) is a collaborative campaign to attract locals and visitors to Downtown Tulsa during the holiday season. The campaign utilizes a holiday website, DowntownDaysofWonder.com, that is managed by DTP and invites organizations to submit their Downtown events from November through January.

Upcoming Downtown holiday events include:

  • Welltown’s Iglootown from Nov. 1-March 2
  • Arvest Winterfest from Nov. 29-Jan. 4
  • Shine on Greenwood on Nov. 30
  • Glow on the Green on Dec. 6 and JollyTown at Guthrie Green from Dec. 16-22
  • Tulsa Ballet’s “The Nutcracker” from Dec. 8-23 and American Theatre Co.’s “A Christmas Carol” from Dec. 6-22 at the Tulsa PAC
  • Tulsa Christmas Parade on Dec. 14
  • New Year’s Eve with The Zuits at LowDown on Dec. 31

“From festive lighting displays to family activities, live music, shopping and dining, Downtown Tulsa is truly a holiday destination,” said Brian Kurtz, President and CEO of Downtown Tulsa Partnership. “DTP is honored to collaborate with these Downtown institutions to showcase all our neighborhood has to offer during Downtown Days of Wonder.”

DTP, which is Downtown’s nonprofit management organization, will install traditional snowflakes and holiday banners on many of Downtown’s light poles, and tree lights have gone up in Chapman Green and along Boston Avenue and Main Street from 3rd to 6th streets in the Deco District. An interactive “Singing Tree” experiential lighting display will again be placed in Williams Green, 61 E. Third St., as well as an augmented reality Christmas tree installation in Chapman Green, 600 S. Main St.

A new DTP initiative, Window Wonderland, will deploy local artists to enliven Downtown storefronts with holiday-themed public art to enhance Downtown walkability and increase foot traffic to businesses. Applications for businesses and artists are open through Nov. 3. Window installations will be on display from Nov. 24-Jan. 31.

DTP will also bring back its award-winning Pop-Up Downtown program, which matches emerging entrepreneurs with ground-floor level vacancies. Four entrepreneurs were chosen for this year’s program, and their shops will be open from approximately Nov. 17-Jan. 31: Box Co. Antiques & Vintage, Calm and Co., The Painted Moth, and the Vintage Barbie Museum.

DTP’s Shop Downtown program incentivizes Downtown shopping during the holiday season. Shoppers who spend at least $50 at participating retailers from Nov. 29-Jan. 4 will be entered into two drawings for prize packages from Downtown businesses.

For the first time, DTP will partner with the Tulsa Christmas Parade to launch a one-day vendor event from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Dec. 14 at Chapman Green. The Gift Market will provide a holiday shopping element to the parade, one of Downtown’s longest-running traditions. Activities for people of all ages will include live entertainment, plus a photo booth and “Letters to Santa” area presented by Communication Federal Credit Union. Vendor applications are open through Nov. 17.
