Pop-Up Downtown Shops

Kickoff Event: Nov. 13, 4-6 PM, at Archive Creative Space
Shops Open: Nov. 17, 2024 – Jan. 31, 2025

For the third year, DTP’s award-winning Pop-Up Downtown program brings emerging businesses to life in empty storefronts. This unique initiative, supported by The Commemoration Fund, gives local entrepreneurs short-term, affordable leases to test the downtown market. Stop by to meet the makers and shop exclusive goods!

  • Better Days Macrame: Handcrafted macrame home goods by Emily Ball at The Boxyard.
  • Calm and Co.: Wellness products, personal growth sessions, and gifts by Kalish Nesbitt at 300 S Cincinnati Ave.
  • The Painted Moth: Creative handmade goods by Katy Casillas-Gray at 427 S Boston Ave.
  • Vintage Barbie Museum: Karl Jones & JD Houchens bring a pink paradise with Barbie-themed tours, workshops, and collectibles at 216 N Main St.

Window Wonderland

Dates: Nov. 24, 2024 – Jan. 31, 2025

See downtown storefronts transformed into a holiday spectacle with Window Wonderland! Local artists will decorate storefronts with festive art, bringing holiday magic to every block and adding excitement for local shoppers.

  • Local Artist Installations: Unique displays add warmth and charm to downtown’s sidewalks and encourage foot traffic.
  • Limited Grants Available: Downtown businesses can apply for matching grant funds through Nov. 3 to bring their holiday decorating ideas to life.

Shop Downtown Program

Dates: Nov. 29, 2024 – Jan. 4, 2025
Prize Drawings: Dec. 6 & Jan. 6

The Shop Downtown program incentivizes local shopping, offering a chance to win prize packages for every $50 spent at participating retailers.

  • How It Works: Spend $50 or more and enter your receipts for a chance to win big.
  • Prize Packages from Local Businesses: Exclusive gifts and experiences up for grabs!
  • Community Impact: Last year, the program generated over $25k in sales, supporting 26 local businesses.

Gift Market at the Tulsa Christmas Parade

Date: Dec. 14, 2024
Time: 10 AM – 3 PM
Location: Chapman Green

New this year, DTP partners with the Tulsa Christmas Parade to present the Gift Market, an outdoor holiday shopping event in Chapman Green.

  • Local Vendors: Browse a wide variety of local makers and crafters for unique holiday gifts.
  • Family Activities: Enjoy live entertainment, a photo booth, and a “Letters to Santa” area for kids.
  • Extended Festivities: Stop by the market before or after the parade for a complete holiday experience.

Public Realm Activations

Our downtown streets and parks will light up with a variety of unique displays, inviting visitors to explore, stroll, and snap photos in our glowing holiday wonderland.

  • Holiday Lights & Snowflakes: Find sparkling street trees in the Deco and Greenwood Districts, along with snowflakes and festive banners on light poles throughout Downtown.
  • Voice-Activated Singing Tree: Returning to Williams Green, this interactive lighting display will light up in song, creating the perfect pre- or post-dinner activity near the Tulsa Performing Arts Center and Hyatt Hotel.
  • Augmented Reality Christmas Tree: Experience a magical, high-tech Christmas tree installation at Chapman Green!
  • Festive Lighting from Local Spots: See beautiful displays from iconic venues like Boston Avenue Church, Bourbon Street Café, and Empire Slice House, creating an even cozier feel across downtown.

Tulsa Performing Arts Center

This holiday season, the Tulsa Performing Arts Center (PAC) brings a dazzling lineup of performances to Downtown Tulsa, offering something for everyone in the family to enjoy. From classic ballet to heartwarming music and festive theater, the PAC is truly the place to experience the joy and spirit of the season!

The Nutcracker | Dec. 8 – 23

Tulsa Ballet’s beloved The Nutcracker returns to captivate audiences with its magical choreography, beautiful sets, and stunning costumes. Featuring live music by the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, this holiday tradition transports viewers to a magical winter wonderland. Watch as Clara’s world is transformed, culminating in a dazzling battle between the Nutcracker Prince and the Mouse King, and an enchanting visit to the Land of Sweets.

A Christmas Carol | Dec. 6 – 22

Rediscover the timeless tale of A Christmas Carol, presented by the American Theatre Company. This Tulsa tradition brings to life Charles Dickens’s classic story of transformation and generosity, complete with beautifully staged scenes and heartwarming performances that capture the spirit of Christmas.

  • Jim Brickman: Comfort & Joy | Dec. 5 — Enjoy a cozy evening of holiday classics with Grammy-nominated pianist Jim Brickman, celebrating love, warmth, and togetherness.
  • Christmas with C.S. Lewis | Dec. 6 – 7 — Step back in time as C.S. Lewis shares heartfelt reflections and cherished holiday memories in this intimate theatrical experience.
  • Mariachi Christmas | Dec. 15 — Feel the festive rhythms of the season with Mariachi Los Camperos, bringing vibrant Mexican holiday music and spirit to Tulsa.

Arvest Winterfest

Tulsa’s beloved Arvest Winterfest returns for its 17th year, offering a magical outdoor experience with ice skating, holiday lights, and live entertainment for the whole family.

  • Ice Skating: Skate under the holiday lights right outside the BOK Center on Third Street.
  • 60-Foot Ice Slide: New this year, this thrilling slide is a must-try for visitors of all ages!
  • Santa Photos: Free photos with Santa on Saturdays & Sundays, 3-5 PM.
  • Winterfest Express Train: Rides for all ages every Saturday from 12-3 PM.
  • Discount Days:
    • Food Drive Mondays: $8 skating admission with a canned good donation.
    • Warmth Wednesdays: Discounted entry with a coat or blanket donation.

Since 1926, the Tulsa Christmas Parade has been a beloved holiday tradition, filling the streets of downtown with festive cheer, dazzling floats, marching bands, and holiday magic! This year’s theme, Stay Gold, Merry & Bright, celebrates Tulsa’s rich history and community spirit.

  • Holiday Floats & Balloons: See whimsical floats and larger-than-life balloons, guided by enthusiastic volunteers and local groups.
