Curbside Haiku returns to Downtown Tulsa this spring!
Downtown Tulsa is home to poetry and visual art as Curbside Haiku returns for the 2026 spring season. Now in its 5th year, this temporary public art project is led by Downtown Tulsa Partnership (DTP).
Curbside Haiku activates Downtown's public spaces while showcasing the artistry of Tulsa's creative community. An open call for submissions resulted in more than 180 haiku entries from Tulsans of all ages and backgrounds. A panel of local literary enthusiasts, including members from Magic City Books, selected the winning poems.
The 10 winning poets are September Boles, Suzanne Bruce, Holly Ivers, Beth King, Dalmo Mendoça, Teresa Parker, Darlene Rough, Kay Shaughnessy, Allison Trombley, and Rachel Visser. All winning entries are available at DowntownTulsa.com/Haiku.
Now installed throughout Downtown, 100 art boards featuring the winning haikus can be found in the Deco District, Arts District, and the Historic Greenwood District, reinforcing the importance of arts and culture in public spaces. The installations will remain in place until mid-May.
