Boston Avenue is excited to be hosting a Tulsa Chapter American Guild of Organists Concert here on Friday October 18, 2024, at 7:30 p.m.
Dr. Kola Owalabi will be the featured recitalist. Dr. Owalabi is the professor of organ at Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana and is known not only as a national and international recitalist but also for his recordings of both modern and historic organ music.
He will begin the program with a fanfare by a current composer and organist, Brenda Portman, a movement from Mozart’s Symphony No. 38 in D Major, and end the program with the entire Symphony No. 2 for organ by early 20th century French organist, Louis Vierne. Please join us and bring a friend in hearing this magnificent organ, music, and recitalist in this free and open-to-the-public event.
