Women-Owned Businesses in Downtown Tulsa!

March 18, 2025

Category:  What’s New

Women are the backbone of the vibrant, thriving place that is Downtown Tulsa. Their impact throughout Downtown is evident: business owners, ambassadors, city officials, artists, entrepreneurs, changemakers, and more.

Throughout history, women have always been at the forefront of entrepreneurship and innovation. However, the playing field had been uneven for a long time. Did you know that until 1988, female entrepreneurs in the United States needed a man to co-sign business loan applications? Women lacked the support and opportunity to fully operate businesses until the late 1980’s.

March is Women’s History Month, and we want to highlight Downtown Tulsa as an inclusive, supportive destination for women to own businesses and be community advocates all while being at the forefront of change.

While there are too many to name, here are some outstanding businesses and organizations that are women-owned and operated:

Goodytwos Toffee Company – This business was originally founded by a mother-daughter duo and is now co-owned and managed by women. There are a variety of sweet products and flavors using simple, wholesome ingredients. With an emphasis on gifting and large events, Goodytwos is a particular flavor among Downtown residents and organizations.

Skyline Animal Hospital – Owned and staffed by women, Skyline Animal Hospital is Downtown’s only veterinary destination. Skyline offers a much-needed service for pet-owning residents, visitors, and employees. Their high-quality veterinary care is matched with incredible hospitality and clear communication.

Fulton Street Books & Coffee – Owned by Onikah Asmoa-Caesar, this shop is the perfect place to work, connect, and relax Fulton Street has a welcoming atmosphere with top-notch menu items, including world famous matcha, lattes, teas, as well as lunch and breakfast items. Fulton Street is also the host site for many community-facing events and is located in the Historic Greenwood District.

Tulsa Creative Engine – Led by Executive Director Bianca Caampued, this nonprofit organization aims to support Tulsa’s creative community. By championing women and BIPOC musicians, artists, and more, this process of collaboration and connectivity allows artists to thrive as entrepreneurs. TCE acts as a driving force to bring creativity and artistry throughout Downtown Tulsa and beyond.

Poppi’s Spa & Silk Salon – Both of these businesses are owned by visionary TJ Woodberry. The mission of these beauty services is simple: to craft spaces where everyone feels celebrated and cared for. Poppi’s offers extensive spa treatments, including massages, body treatments, facials, waxing, and more. Silk Salon offers blowouts, silk presses, braiding and loc services, and more.

All year long, we celebrate the dynamic women that make up Downtown Tulsa! Thank you for making our Downtown a vibrant, inclusive, and prosperous community.
