Winter Weather Update - February 17

February 17, 2025

Category:  Clean and Safe

Updated February 17, 2025 - National Weather Service forecasts show extreme winter weather and arctic conditions moving into our region early Tuesday morning and into the weekend.

The City of Tulsa has issued a Winter Weather Update with helpful information for weather preparations, and future updates from the City will be published to their online Press Room or on Facebook.

Snow and Ice Removal:

On Monday afternoon/evening (2/17), DTP field teams will pre-treat the sidewalks on the Boulder, Main, Boston, Cincinnati, and Detroit Avenue bridges crossing the BNSF Railroad per the City of Tulsa’s services agreement. These areas will continue to be cleared and treated following expected snowfall on Tuesday 2/18. After these areas are cleared, Ambassadors will prioritize treating ADA ramps at major pedestrian intersections whenever possible. The City of Tulsa will clear and treat streets throughout Downtown and other areas of the City.

DTP Ambassador deployment will be modified this week to reduce exposure to arctic temperatures and sub-zero windchills. Response to requests for services this week may be delayed because of inclement conditions and your patience is appreciated.

Property owners are responsible for removing snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their buildings and properties per City Ordinance Title 27 Chapter 12.12. Please be good neighbors and do your part by treating your sidewalks and corners.

Outreach and Assistance

DTP is working with area service providers and emergency personnel to direct unsheltered individuals to overflow shelters and warming stations. If you see someone in Downtown in need of assistance, please call or text the Ambassador Team at 918-202-4093 during our hours of operation.

Additional weather updates and information for unsheltered Tulsans including shelter locations outreach requests can be access via the Housing Solutions website
