This holiday season, Downtown Tulsa truly sparkled thanks to the return of Window Wonderland, a festive public art initiative that transformed storefronts into joyful, creative holiday displays.
This year, 17 downtown businesses participated, each decorating their windows to help make the district feel warm, whimsical, and full of seasonal cheer. To help kickstart the creativity, the first 15 businesses to sign up received a $175 reimbursement, encouraging even more participation and helping businesses invest in festive designs that brought smiles to passersby all season long.
Walking through downtown during the holidays felt extra special. Every window offered something different, from hand-painted scenes to immersive displays, and together they created a walkable, family-friendly experience that invited people to slow down, explore, and enjoy the season.
How the Contest Worked
Each participating business received a Window Wonderland vinyl decal with a QR code, making it easy for visitors to scan, view the full lineup of displays, and vote for their favorite window.
The contest ran from November 28 through January 10, and the response from the community was incredible! We received 493 total votes!
And the Winner Is…
We’re thrilled to announce Mi Tea Lounge as the official Window Wonderland winner! The display was created by owner and artist TaNesha Rushing, and it quickly became a community favorite.

Her window featured a cheerful lineup of holiday characters, Santa, the Grinch, a snowman, an elf, and a reindeer, all enjoying delicious tea together. A festive Golden Driller wearing a Mi Tea shirt tied everything back to Tulsa pride. The display was on-brand, creative, adorable, and full of personality, a perfect blend of holiday fun and local flair.
Walking in a Window Wonderland
The celebration didn’t stop at the storefronts. On December 6, the Downtown YMCA hosted Walking in a Window Wonderland, a guided community walk through the Deco District and beyond. About 25 participants joined in to admire the displays, snap selfies, enjoy sweet treats from local businesses, and vote along the way, all while walking together as neighbors and friends.

A Big Thank You
Window Wonderland was a huge success, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the creativity of our participating businesses and the enthusiasm of everyone who came downtown to view and vote.
Thank you to all who decorated, walked, voted, and shared in the holiday spirit. We can’t wait to bring Window Wonderland back next holiday season and make Downtown Tulsa shine once again.
