There are so many traditions around the world for New Year's Eve. In some cultures, people eat something round (like a donut) to symbolize prosperity; in others, they kiss at midnight to improve one's romantic endeavors for the year, and in some cultures they even jump in a cold lake at midnight (no thanks, Canada).
