Friday, March 14, marked an exciting milestone for Downtown Tulsa as we celebrated the grand opening of the Santa Fe Square with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour. Hosted in partnership with Downtown Tulsa Partnership and Urban Land Development, the event drew an incredible turnout of community members, local leaders, and project partners, all eager to welcome this transformative development to the Blue Dome District.

Attendees heard from Brian Kurtz, Elliot Nelson, Councilor Laura Bellis, Jay Helm, Justin McLaughlin, and Mayor Monroe Nichols, each of whom spoke about the importance of Santa Fe Square in shaping the future of downtown. Their remarks highlighted not just the significance of new housing, but also the role that vibrant, connected spaces play in building a stronger community. The celebration continued with a reception featuring drinks from Maestro, an exciting new cocktail bar set to open in the development.

Santa Fe Square is more than just an apartment complex—it’s the centerpiece of a $150 million mixed-use development that has transformed two city blocks in the Blue Dome District. With 184 new residential units, plus retail, dining, and office spaces, the project is helping address Tulsa’s growing demand for housing. Developer Elliot Nelson spoke to the years of work leading up to this moment, noting that the vision for Santa Fe Square dates back to 2004. Mayor Monroe Nichols highlighted the city’s need for over 12,000 new housing units in the next decade, emphasizing that projects like this are key to meeting that goal.
With modern amenities including a dog park, outdoor grilling stations, a pool and courtyard, and a European-style plaza, Santa Fe Square is designed for those who want to live, work, and play in the heart of the city. The McNellie’s Group announced plans to bring a new Italian restaurant to the development, while Aaron Post, owner of Valkyrie Cocktail Bar, will introduce Maestro, a Latin-inspired tapas and craft cocktail bar. These new additions will further enhance Downtown Tulsa’s reputation as a vibrant hub for food lovers and socialites alike.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us for this celebration—your support for Downtown Tulsa’s continued growth and development means the world to us. As we welcome new residents to Santa Fe Square, we look forward to seeing how this transformative project will shape the future of our city. Thank you to our partners, speakers, and guests for making this event such a success!
