Celebrate National Ice Cream Day in Downtown Tulsa🍦 (Sunday, July 20)
July 17, 2025
Category: What’s New
If you needed an excuse to indulge in frozen bliss, National Ice Cream Day is it—and Downtown Tulsa is stacked with options. Whether you're into rich scoops, small-batch gelato, or a cookie-ice-cream sandwich that hits every craving at once, the downtown core has something cold and creamy for you.

Here’s your go-to guide for where to celebrate:
1. Rose Rock Microcreamery
📍 113 E 5th St.
Oklahoma’s original microcreamery is serving up serious flavor. Rose Rock uses real ingredients and even has vegan options, which is rare and awesome. They rotate 18 flavors, including 9 traditional favorites like:
- Madagascar Vanilla
- Midnight Chocolate
- Lavender Honey
- Vietnamese Coffee
- Banana Pudding
And then there are 9 limited-run flavors—like their returning fan-favorite: Mango Kulfi, a creamy, subtly tropical flavor you’ll want to catch while it lasts. Check their socials for the latest drops because these flavors don’t stay around for long.
👉 Pro tip: All three Rose Rock locations will have Mango Kulfi on National Ice Cream Day. Don’t sleep on it.
2. Kilwins Tulsa
📍 418 E 2nd St, Suite B
For classic, old-school ice cream with rich texture and small-town charm, Kilwins delivers. They’ve been crafting their Original Recipe Ice Cream since 1985, and it shows. Each scoop is super-premium, ultra-creamy, and made for serious indulgence.
Flavors vary by store, and they often drop Limited Edition scoops—so swing by or call ahead to see what’s special for the big day.
Also? Their in-house fudge and chocolates make for an excellent chaser. Just saying.
3. STG Gelateria (inside Andolini's Pizzeria)
📍 1552 E 15th St (a quick Lyft/Uber or Lime ride from the core)
Not technically ice cream—and that’s the point. STG Gelato is the real Italian deal. Made with milk (not cream), churned slow, and built for flavor over fluff. This stuff is made fresh daily, in small batches, using the same ingredients and equipment you’d find in Italy.
Their pistachio actually tastes like pistachio. Their peach actually tastes like peach. It’s subtle, smooth, and next-level.
If you’re looking for something a little more elevated, STG is a must.
4. Insomnia Cookies – Santa Fe Square
📍 123 W 1st St (base of Santa Fe Square)
They may be famous for warm cookies at midnight, but Insomnia's ice cream game is STRONG. Choose from:
- A cup of ice cream
- A pint to-go
- Or the MVP: an ice cream sandwich with fresh cookies or brownies
Mix and match to your heart’s content. Think: chocolate chunk cookies with mint chocolate chip. Or peanut butter cookies with vanilla bean. Endless combos. No wrong answers.
