Join Steve Liggett for a Spring Raku Clay workshop, offered on two distinct dates: April 11th and April 25th, from 9am-4:30pm each day (with Sunday rain dates). Participants will explore various clay construction techniques, including pinching, coiling, and slab work (with wheel throwing encouraged), to create up to five pieces for the unique raku firing. A highlight is the hands-on raku firing, where pieces are glazed, fired, and dramatically post-reduced in combustible materials like trash cans, yielding a plethora of striking effects. Enrollment is $210, which includes 10 lbs. of clay, but space is limited, so early registration is recommended.
