108|Contemporary presents the work of Austin Navrkal in Earth, Sky, and Water. Austin Navrkal’s work is inspired by various natural phenomena, depicting dynamic and tranquil characteristics of color and form found within sunrises and sets, cloud formations, flow of rivers and wave formations. His sculptures express the idea of process and journey. There is a relationship he shares with each piece as it is created, his work encounters predictable and unexpected situations giving them unique characteristics through the process. In noticing these qualities of a sculpture he is able to self-reflect and contemplate on the moments that have shaped him.
