It’s time to go back to school! Which means school supplies, a fresh cut, and some new kicks are in order to make the school year a success. If you're looking for vibes that don't scream "my mom got me this" head to Downtown Tulsa to get your fix.

Made: The Indie Emporium Shop

Made is home to handmade goods from over 150 makers and crafters, many of whom are from the heart of the Tulsa Arts District. The shop's mission is to bring people closer to the products they purchase and the artists behind them. Stop by for the cutest pencils, notebooks, hand-crafted bags, accessories, and more!   

Ida Red General Store

Ida Red celebrates all the things you cherish about Tulsa and Oklahoma. Established in 2016, this store has become a place to revel in nostalgia for the heartland, connect to local businesses and local artists, and find products that bring joy. If you're a college student or teacher, take a look at their array of mugs, snow globes, and candles to make your classroom, dorm room, or any room feel more like home. They also have several must-have Oklahoma stickers, key chains, notepads and planners, writing utensils, and other school supplies to cross off your list.

Located in the Blue Dome District, Boomtown Tees is a great place to shop for your new favorite T-shirt. Nine One Skate

Back to school sounds like new sneakers and skateboards! Nine One Skate, a nod to our beloved 918 area code, is Downtown Tulsa's very own skate shop. Their mission is to support and be a positive influence in our local skate scene.  

Silhouette Sneakers & Art

Established in 2019, Silhouette Sneakers & Art is a highly curated retail experience that brings limited and authentic sneakers and streetwear to Tulsa. If that doesn't say "back to school" for sneakerheads all over Tulsa, then we don't know what does. The boutique on Greenwood Avenue also features a street-inspired art gallery.

The summer is coming to an end, and there are just a few more days to get your summer reading done. Magic City Books is an independent bookstore owned by the Tulsa Literary Coalition, located in the Tulsa Arts District. They specialize in adults' literary and popular fiction and narrative nonfiction and offer a carefully curated section for children and teens. You can expect to receive personalized service from their knowledgeable staff who love to read.

Central Library

On the topic of books, get prepared for the school year at Tulsa's Central Library by requesting or placing holds on books for your required reading as soon as you receive your syllabus. The branch also has indoor and outdoor study areas where you can get all your work done. Reserve a private room for group projects or study parties.

Downtown Tulsa is a great place to get away and have fun, but it is also a place of success. We wish you a great school year!
